English Services May 30 & 31, 2009
Saturday service • 5pm Venue: Cornerstone Main AudiSpeaker: Ps. Ted Topper Sermon: The Light of GodJesus, the Light of God, declared that He was the “light of the world” in John 8:12. The prophet Isaiah commanded prophetically that God’s people should “Arise, shine; for thy light has come”. In this message, we will consider some of the many attributes of God’s light and its work in the life of each believer and the Church in general.Sunday 1st service • 8.30amVenue: Cornerstone Main AudiSermon: Thou Shalt Be As My MouthIn our walk with the Lord, we come to places where the Lord wants to have a special meeting with us. This happened in the life of Jeremiah who had been faithful in the Lord’s call on his life. But a crisis arose that required a fresh word from God. The Lord is always faithful to lead us to those places of special meetings with Him. As we consider Jeremiahs experience, may we be encouraged as well that God has reserved for us encounters that will take us to a new level in our walk with Him.
Sunday 2nd service • 10.30amVenue: Cornerstone Main AudiSpeaker: Ps. Tim O'ConnellSermon: The Days of Nehemiah“These are the days of Elijah” is a familiar song known by many in the church. Though true, another man of the Old Testament helps to give further insight to many issues confronting today’s church. Through Nehemiah’s life, we learn truths concerning the Lord’s call, discernment, spiritual warfare, vision-casting and a mindset to see the work through. In a word he was a leader, the quality of leader we need to see arise today.

Speaker: Elder Soon Tats FahSermon: True Rest
How and where do we obtain rest through the hassles of our daily routine and circumstances? Jesus Himself invites us to come to Him and exchange our yoke with His. Are you heavy laden? Is your yoke too heavy to bear? As the old hymn goes, "What a friend we have in Jesus… (we only need to) take it to the Lord in prayer." Only in Him can we find true rest for our souls.
10.30amBAHASAINDONESIANSERVICEVenue: Theatrette 2Odeon Katong
Speaker: Peter SamSermon: The Cell Group
The sound foundation of any cell group is a good solid and healthy fellowship with the Lord and His people. As we gather, we tend to bring in our agenda into any group meetings, but the Lord wants to say: "If you lift ME up, and I shall draw ALL men unto ME.". The first step, therefore, in welcoming His agenda, instead of ours, in a cell group or any fellowship, brings forth His Presence. And come to think of it, that's all we need – His tangible Presence.
10.30amFILIPINO SERVICEVenue: Theatrette 1 Odeon Katong
Speaker: Ps. Hazeil MinozaSermon: Pulling Down Pride
Pride has invaded much of our day-to-day living. It can pervert even the noblest of intentions. Even in the midst of serving God, we have to constantly repent of wanting to seek personal recognition and scoring personal accomplishments and victories. In Prov 6:16-19, the wise man lists several cardinal sins that God hates and PRIDE is the first. In other words, the root of pride is the fountainhead of all other sins. This makes it vital us to understand, and walk free from this enemy of our souls.

Understanding our identity gives us stability. Our enemy knows that when we live out our identity in Christ, we can withstand all kinds of pressure. We must choose to affirm ourselves with what God says about us in spite of all the contrary feelings, negative thoughts, past behavioural evidence and what others say about us. In Christ, we can do all things!

In Exodus 14:15, the Lord said to Moses, "Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward." After encountering God in His presence and power, we have to move forward with confidence. Yang Tuck YoongSermon: Being a Prophetic VoiceThe Church in the last days is destined to be a prophetic voice in the nations and God in this hour is preparing her to fulfill her destiny. 10.30amBAHASAINDONESIANSERVICEVenue: Theatrette 2Odeon Katong
Speaker: Ibu ErnaSermon: The Importance of Man's Will in Fulfilling the Will of God
Man's will usually refers to the "resolve" or "determination" of a person. When God made man, He gave him the power of choice… that is, a will by which he could choose the course of actions that he would take in his life. If so, where does God's will come in and why do believers disobey it? May we discover the joy of committing our lives to fulfilling God's will.
10.30amFILIPINO SERVICEVenue: Theatrette 1 Odeon Katong
Speaker: Ps. Hazeil MinozaSermon: Women of Great Influence (part 2)
In Proverbs 31, we read about the characteristics of a virtuous woman – a woman at her best who exudes godly positive influence. But the Scripture also warns of another kind of woman who should be avoided – the adulterous or wicked woman. She is described as "being out there waiting for her prey". Though she is as influential as the virtuous woman, her influence is one of negativity. She has cast down many wounded, and all who were slain by her were strong men.
1.00pmBURMESESERVICEVenue: #02-24
Speaker: Ps. Saw ThihaSermon: Trust Alone
The psalmist reminds us to "Trust Him at all times." The manifestation of God's power is not limited or dependent on the situations and problems we face. Rather than allowing them to hinder our trust in God, we can put our confidence in Him and allow God to move those mountains. Trust is the basic tenet of a faith-filled relationship with God.
1.30pmYOUTH SERVICEVenue: Main AuditoriumOdeon Katong
Speaker: Liu JiancongSermon: Happily Ever After (part 2 of 3)
We all dream of a “Happily Ever After”. In this 3-part series, we will address questions such as – "Why do I experience a sudden liking towards the opposite gender? How do I handle a crush? What’s the end in dating? How do I know if he is the right one?" How do teenagers emerge victorious from this sex-crazed world? Invite your friends, because the Church and the world need to hear how God intends to bless us with a “Happily Ever After”!
2.00pmAFRICAN SERVICEVenue: Theatrette 1Odeon Katong
Speaker: Ps. Tunji OlasunkanmiSermon: Fidelity in the Face of Many Adversities
The book of Second Timothy has been rightly called the "Swan Song" of Paul. The great apostle was faced with an impending death, the manner of which he was not even sure of. And yet we see a man with a resolute faith, a steadfast hope and an enduring love. These are the same three pillars we need in order to build a victorious life in the face of many adversities today.

English Services May 9 & 10, 2009
Saturday service • 5pmVenue: Cornerstone Main AudiSpeaker: Ps. Yang Tuck YoongSermon: The Greatest Privilege of AllBy far, the most wonderful privilege we have as Christians is the ability to hear from God. Without this, there is absolutely no progress in the Christian life. Jesus Himself said that we live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Do you hear God speaking to you? Do you want to hear God's voice? Then this word really is for you.
Sunday 1st & 2nd service • 8.30 & 10.30amVenue: Cornerstone Main AudiSpeaker: Ps. Yang Tuck YoongSermon: Are We Ready for the Real Battles Ahead? We are entering into a season that is unlike any other. We are entering into a time of war and conflict and the Church must be mobilized for battle. It is the time when kings go out to battle and this is not a drill; we are in this for real. But we must know what battlefields we are to fight in. The primary principle in spiritual warfare is: we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. People are not the enemy, and the recent AWARE saga has brought out the ignorance of God's people yet once again.

Speaker: Ibu SusanniSermon: The Faith of a Mother
Taking on the exhortation from 2 Timothy 1:5, all mothers should be encouraged that the task of raising up children is indeed a very high calling and privilege. Her training will determine the future generation that will take on the baton of faith. The role of a mother in the faith of her family is to continue in the faith, to preserve the faith and to be a faithful pillar of prayer and intercession for her household.
1.00pmBURMESESERVICEVenue: #02-24
Speaker: Ps. Rupert LimSermon: Your Mind – The Battleground
God's Word tells us in Proverbs, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." How often have we allowed thoughts to dictate how we feel and determine who we are? There is an ongoing battle for the ground of our minds. As such, it is vital for every believer to realise the need to rightfully choose the thoughts we allow into our minds. The apostle Peter exhorts us to "gird the loins of our minds."

In part 2 of this message, we look at the subject of diligence. The Bible says God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Heb 11:6). There is no room for lazy people to excel in the Kingdom of God. We must have sheer determination to excel by serving God with the best of our time, talent & treasure. In summation, it takes discipline combining determination with diligence to get to the God-desired place of fulfillment. Do not settle for less. You are destined for excellence!
