English Services May 30 & 31, 2009
Saturday service • 5pm Venue: Cornerstone Main AudiSpeaker: Ps. Ted Topper Sermon: The Light of GodJesus, the Light of God, declared that He was the “light of the world” in John 8:12. The prophet Isaiah commanded prophetically that God’s people should “Arise, shine; for thy light has come”. In this message, we will consider some of the many attributes of God’s light and its work in the life of each believer and the Church in general.Sunday 1st service • 8.30amVenue: Cornerstone Main AudiSermon: Thou Shalt Be As My MouthIn our walk with the Lord, we come to places where the Lord wants to have a special meeting with us. This happened in the life of Jeremiah who had been faithful in the Lord’s call on his life. But a crisis arose that required a fresh word from God. The Lord is always faithful to lead us to those places of special meetings with Him. As we consider Jeremiahs experience, may we be encouraged as well that God has reserved for us encounters that will take us to a new level in our walk with Him.
Sunday 2nd service • 10.30amVenue: Cornerstone Main AudiSpeaker: Ps. Tim O'ConnellSermon: The Days of Nehemiah“These are the days of Elijah” is a familiar song known by many in the church. Though true, another man of the Old Testament helps to give further insight to many issues confronting today’s church. Through Nehemiah’s life, we learn truths concerning the Lord’s call, discernment, spiritual warfare, vision-casting and a mindset to see the work through. In a word he was a leader, the quality of leader we need to see arise today.

Speaker: Elder Soon Tats FahSermon: True Rest
How and where do we obtain rest through the hassles of our daily routine and circumstances? Jesus Himself invites us to come to Him and exchange our yoke with His. Are you heavy laden? Is your yoke too heavy to bear? As the old hymn goes, "What a friend we have in Jesus… (we only need to) take it to the Lord in prayer." Only in Him can we find true rest for our souls.
10.30amBAHASAINDONESIANSERVICEVenue: Theatrette 2Odeon Katong
Speaker: Peter SamSermon: The Cell Group
The sound foundation of any cell group is a good solid and healthy fellowship with the Lord and His people. As we gather, we tend to bring in our agenda into any group meetings, but the Lord wants to say: "If you lift ME up, and I shall draw ALL men unto ME.". The first step, therefore, in welcoming His agenda, instead of ours, in a cell group or any fellowship, brings forth His Presence. And come to think of it, that's all we need – His tangible Presence.
10.30amFILIPINO SERVICEVenue: Theatrette 1 Odeon Katong
Speaker: Ps. Hazeil MinozaSermon: Pulling Down Pride
Pride has invaded much of our day-to-day living. It can pervert even the noblest of intentions. Even in the midst of serving God, we have to constantly repent of wanting to seek personal recognition and scoring personal accomplishments and victories. In Prov 6:16-19, the wise man lists several cardinal sins that God hates and PRIDE is the first. In other words, the root of pride is the fountainhead of all other sins. This makes it vital us to understand, and walk free from this enemy of our souls.
