Speaker: Ps. Lim Lip YongSermon: Are You a Pharisee?
It seems like Jesus was always picking on the Pharisees in the Gospels. Numerous parables that were told were also targeted at them. In fact, some of the strongest words that Jesus spoke were directed at this group of people. Perhaps it is high time then for us to examine the problem of the Pharisees and see if we can find the same problems in our own lives.
10.30amBAHASAINDONESIANSERVICEVenue: Theatrette 2Odeon Katong
Speaker: Ibu SusanniSermon: Our New Character in Christ series - Submitting Ourselves
In learning to submit ourselves, we will firstly need to understand the order of authority that has been set by the Lord Himself and why we should submit to authorities that are above us. What is the meaning and importance of submission and what are some of the hindrances that we will encounter in so doing. Finally, we take a look at the blessings of submission and how each of us can experience God's abundant blessings in submission.
10.45amFILIPINO SERVICEVenue: Theatrette 1 Odeon Katong
Speaker: Ps. Brenda MadridSermon: Facing Loneliness
Everyone faces lonely moments in life. But when loneliness begins to define our lives, it causes serious problems. We compromise our principles to try to fill the emotional emptiness and the consequences can be devastating. God desires to fulfill every longing we have for meaningful relationships and we can come running to Him – the Lover of our souls.
1.00pmBURMESESERVICEVenue: #02-24
Speaker: Evangelist Ko HtweSermon: Foundation series (part 3): A Life of Worship
Evangelist Ko Htwe is a well-known songwriter and a pioneer for introducing praise & worship to local churches in Myanmar. His ministry, Songs of Heaven, produced three local worship albums and its songs were widely-used in churches. He is also a co-organiser of Festival of Praise in Myanmar and he has started a new church plant this year.
1.30pmYOUTH SERVICEVenue: Main AuditoriumOdeon Katong
Speaker: Ps. Paul Liu JiancongSermon: Really Real
I like the way the Amplified Bible explains 1 Peter 3:15 – “Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you." The key word here is logical. How do we share Christ with others in a logical manner? How do we preach the Gospel at a level where pre-believers can relate to and understand? The NIV says, “Always be prepared to give an answer.” Are you prepared? It’s time to tell the world that Jesus is really real!
2.00pmAFRICAN SERVICEVenue: Theatrette 1Odeon Katong
Speaker: Ps. Daniel KisaSermon: Book of Ruth series - The Fruit of a Broken Vessel
The Bible portrays Ruth as a broken young woman. A widow at an early age and a beggar in the season of harvest. But the Holy Ghost then turns a new page which changes the destiny of this young woman and signals the end of her perpetual misery in life. The same grace of God is still available to give us a new start in life.
